The Last Happy Hour/ Interlude for Self –Reflection of 2002

Any bartender will tell you that those in our profession are often called upon for advice or to engage our super-human listening powers. As the holidays approached “orphans” of Ramadan, Hanukkah and Christmas all gather round our bar. Over that third martini it can become quite philosophical. In fact, in the virtual world of Boobs the Bartender some universal truths emerge that may give you some strength and direction this New Year. (Along with, of course my tasty winter drink.)

Kings Head Coffee

Mix in your favorite large coffee mug then sip and allow this decadent beverage to warm your hands and your inner self.

• 1 oz dark rum
• 1 oz sambuca
• 1 oz hot chocolate
• 1 oz coffee

Top with whipped cream and chocolate sprinkles.

Rules For Being Human

1. You will receive a body. Love it or hate it, it’s yours for this time around.
2. You will learn lessons. Life is a school where you are enrolled fulltime. Everyday you have an opportunity to learn a lesson. You may like the lesson or think it irrelevant or stupid.
3. There are no mistakes in life only lessons. We grow trough trial and error. A failed lesson can be as valuable as one that works.
4. A lesson is repeated until learned. Lessons can take on many different forms until you learn them. Once learned, you are able go on to the next lesson.
5. Learning lessons never ends. All of life contains lessons. If you are alive there are lessons to be learned.
6. “There” is no better than “here”. When your “there” has become “here” you will simply obtain another “there” that will again look better than “here”.
7. Others are only mirrors of you. You can’t love or hate something about another person unless it reflects something you love or hate about yourself .
8. What you make of your life is up to you. You have all the tools and resources you need. What you make of them is up to you. The choice really is yours.
9. Your answers lie inside you. The answers to life’s questions also lie inside you. All you need to do is look listen and trust.
10. You will forget all this.
